Dark Crossings by Karen Harper/Marta Perry/Patricia Davids
My review: 4 of 5 stars
Dark Crossings is three books in one. All feature Amish characters and are in the romantic suspense genre. They are short and sweet with enough romance and suspense to satisfy. The mysteries are of the cozier variety, and the romances are clean. No foul language or graphic violence. Just a dash of drama and danger. Each of the three novellas is a fulfilling afternoon of reading.
Quotes:
1) The Covered Bridge: “Life with Ben was probably always like that, exciting and amazing and – and entirely forbidden” (p. 23).
2) Fallen in Plain Sight: “Jacob hid a smile. Sometimes he thought ‘I can do it’ must have been Sarah’s first sentence” (p. 136).
3) Outside the Circle: “Seeing the sadness that came over his face touched Lena deeply. She wanted more than anything to comfort him, but she wasn’t sure how to do that” (p. 201).
