Thanks to AudioGo I received a review copy of Plugged by Eoin Colfer of Artemis Fowl fame. I finally had the chance to listen to it when my husband and I drove twelve hours to Missouri to see our daughter graduate from Basic Training. I was very glad our teenage son was not there to hear this book. Plugged is funny, but it is also crass and filled with the kind of sexual scenarios and language that were blush-inducing. The story is hilarious. It is about a man who receives hair plugs and ends up with his friend’s voice in his head. He also has people dying all around him and must figure out what’s going on before he ends up dead himself. There is a lot of action and clever humor, but the language nearly caused us to stop listening. Nevertheless, we stayed with it. One because it was an interesting story. Two because we had nothing else to listen to. Do I recommend it? Only if your children are not around and you don’t mind blushing…a lot.
