A chicken walked in to the library, went up to the librarian, flapped her wings and said, “Bok! Bok!” The librarian reached behind her, grabbed a book, and placed it under the chicken’s wing. And, out the door, the chicken waddled.
A few minutes later, the chicken returned. She placed the book on the counter, looked at the librarian, flapped her wings, and said, “Bok! Bok!” The librarian shrugged, reached for another book, placed it under the chicken’s wing. And out the door the chicken waddled.
A few minutes later, the chicken returned again. She placed the book on the counter, looked at the librarian, flapped her wings, and said, “Bok! Bok!” The librarian shrugged and gave the chicken another book. But this time the librarian decided to follow the chicken to see where she was going.
She followed the chicken out the door, down the path, and to the edge of the wood where there was a pond. Sitting beside the pond was a frog. The librarian watched as the chicken set the book in front of the frog, and opened the book. Before the chicken could begin the story however, the frog shook his head. “Read it! Read it” he said.
